New World Theatre Club

New World Theatre Club Youth Theatre is open to children ages 10-16. Workshops and productions are conducted in English; however, English as a first language is not required.

The 2010 Summer School dates are:-

  24th July - 1st August 2010

at the same venue, Centre d'Accueil Clairfontaine, Arlon, Belgium.

Annual General Meeting

Dear Member,

You are cordially invited to join the Committee of the New World Theatre Club for our Annual General Meeting. This year it will be held on 28 June 2010 at 19:30 in Room A11, Abbaye de Neumünster, in the Grund.

The Annual General Meeting elects the committee and examines the finances of the club. Please do try to come. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please fill in the Proxy

The DAW annual Summer School is held in August, in Wales.

It is an intensive week of theatrical learning, with like-minded people, and led by some of the country’s leading theatrical practitioners. Content is relevant to the amateur theatre community, but challenges existing habits and nurtures new approaches, techniques and practices.

Happy 2010!
Firstly I want to say Happy New Year and may you all have a safe and healthy 2010.
I would also like to say congratulations to all of the people involved in Luxembourg’s First Ever 10 Minute Play Festival. From the writers, directors and actors to the technical and backstage crews, front of house, producer and bar staff and of course all of you who came to support the shows as audience members - fantastic job!

The committee met in late November to discuss topics which included a wrap-up of the Ten Minute Play Festival, the pantomime that the NWTC will be supporting in the new year, details of the upcoming Youth Theater production and long-range planning for next year.

NWTC Youth Theatre presented two evenings before the holidays of Dylan Thomas? classic prose poem, A Child’s Christmas in Wales. Phil Evans and John Evans read the poem with poised, clear Welsh accents as the snow fell on the Traffo Stage of the Carré Rotondes. The evenings were warmed by mulled wine and bara brith and the children acted out each childhood memory.
