About The Event
A sweetly compelling and equally amusing one-act play written by contemporary playwright Nora Connolly. The play follows, in a both endearing and sobering manner, the turbulent lives of Irish authors James Joyce and Nora Barnacle. It is a play about ambitions, love, needs, and threats.
The cast requires one female and one male actor each with an approximate acting age of between 30 and 50, a strong understanding of Irish linguistic idiosyncrasies and complexity, and a sensitivity to the history and culture of Ireland. Prospective candidates need to be available for rehearsals from September 2024 in view of a performance in January 2025. Anyone who fits the bill and is interested in auditioning is kindly requested to come forward very soon by writing to committee@nwtc.lu and stating their first and second choices of audition dates. 10 September 2024, 16 September 2024, 26 September 2024 (new date), 1 October 2024 (new date) or by mutual agreement. The audition venue will be announced nearer the time.Â
