AUDITION NOTICE
The New World Theatre Club is pleased to call for auditions for it’s 2019 spring production, The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, to be directed by John Brigg.
The Play: Chekhov’s first masterpiece is underpinned with a subtle yet complex humanity. It is a comedy of frustrated lives, of lost opportunities and the clash between generations in which each character must face their own aspirations and disappointments.
Audition: Sunday 3rdJune from 2 to 5 pm
11 Bisserweg, L-1238 Luxembourg-City (in the Grund, just past Oscars pub)
The audition will take the form of a 3-hour general workshop for all auditionnées, using games, exercises and improvisations in a constructive, creative and supportive way in order to enable the best ensemble to be chosen for the play. There will be no individual auditions so no need to learn an “audition piece”, nor to be familiar with the play. The script itself won’t be used during the workshop.
Those interested are requested to be at the venue by 1:45 pm in order to register and be ready to start at 2 pm. Please wear comfortable clothes and footwear.
If you are unable to attend, please contact John Brigg to make alternative arrangements.

A note from director John Brigg
"This will be a workshop-style audition without emphasis on roles and without individual auditions. So neither auditions pieces are needed nor will it be necessary to "prepare" for a particular role (although candidates can of course say which role(s) they would like to try for). It will be a fun afternoon for all with exercises that everyone can participate in, regardless of ability or agility! A safe environnement will be created in the mode of summer school, allowing people to be creative and show their talents without the pressure of performance."
