Creating truthful relationships through improvisation
CSI member Steve Bond explains: "This workshop aims to introduce the principles of improvisation, the practice of creating dramatic scenes in the moment, without a script. We will focus especially on the skills we use on stage to create emotional relationships between characters that are grounded in truth. Such 'grounded' improvisation has become an increasingly important part of our show, C.S.I.: Crime Scene Improvisation, since our last visit to Luxembourg.
We aim to create a warm workshop environment, in which you'll feel safe in trying things out without fear of judgement or ‘getting it wrong'. Through a series of warm-ups, pair and group exercises, we'll teach you the skills that encourage spontaneity and allow you to achieve a creative synergy with your fellow improvisers, creating stories and relationships that emerge from nowhere. Eventually we'll progress to playing scenes that will let you put these improvisational skills into practice."
Saturday afternoon workshop: Altrimenti (5, Avenue Marie-Thérèse, L-2132 Luxembourg)
Sunday workshop: Beggen Cultural Centre (26A, rue de Rochefort, L-.2431 Luxembourg)
CSI will also carry out NWTC youth-group workshops but these will be only for those youth group members.
